UI Redesign

Improving Educator Experience and Submission Accuracy

Project Overview:

Our Salesforce Community site served as the main educator portal for documentation and curriculum resources. The original design by an external vendor was confusing and cluttered, leading to user errors and frustration. I independently overhauled the interface to improve clarity, navigation, and form accuracy, all without formal UI/UX training, just deep understanding of our users' needs.

My Role:

  • Reorganized content hierarchy and page structure to make key actions and resources easier to find.
  • Improved visual separation of multiple classroom entries by adding visual spacing and context headers.
  • Added critical identifying info to reduce teacher errors (e.g., submitting on behalf of the wrong classroom).
  • Implemented real-time classroom preview within Form Assembly forms, overcoming vendor limitations.

Tools & Technologies:

Salesforce, Site.com Studio, Form Assembly, HTML/CSS (minor UI edits), Asana, Conga

Outcomes:

  • Reduced educator submission errors and duplicate classroom entries.
  • Demonstrated agility and problem-solving by independently solving an issue deemed “impossible” by external consultants.
